Poetics of Prophecy
I will be teaching a weekly course at Matan, beginning October 18, 2023
Transmissions: Connections and Disconnections
We will study Parshat Hashavua (the portion of the week), reading rabbinic, medieval, and modern commentaries, with reference also to philosophical and psychoanalytic thinkers.
We will investigate the possibilities and failures of communication, between individuals and between generations, and between the divine and the human, as they are reflected in the language of the biblical text and re-directed in the commentary texts. What stands between us and the other to whom we speak?
Wednesdays 5 - 6.30 pm (zoom only)
